White tea from Fujian province with a touch of amaranth and marigold flowers
White tea is a specialty of the province of Fujian. Young tea leaves and buds are mixed with amaranth and marigold flowers and hand-rolled into small balls before they are steamed and dried. The amaranth and marigold flowers impart a subtle scent that only enhances the beautiful sight of the tea flower as it slowly opens in hot water.
How to prepare flower teas:
Heat some fresh water just until it reaches the boiling point. Let the water cool to about 80°C. Pour some hot water into a small pot, and rinse it out. Place one dried flower tea in the pot. Pour the hot water over the flower tea. After about two to three minutes, the tea is ready for drinking. The same tea leaves can be used for about 4 infusions.
How to store tea:
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Unopened packages can also be placed in the freezer to extend shelf-life.
