Oolong tea from central Taiwan blended with osmanthus
Oolong is considered by many to be one of the best quality Chinese teas and Taiwan, one of the best Oolong-tea growing regions. The sharpness of Oolong tea is balanced by the addition of osmanthus-scented tea, which also imparts a sweetness both to its aroma and taste.
How to prepare Oolong tea:
Rinse the teapot with hot water. Prepare one to two heaping teaspoons of tea leaves per cup. Boil fresh, cold water and allow it to cool to about 95C. Pour the water evenly over the tea leaves. Let the tea infuse for about one minute. Several pots of tea can be made from the same tea leaves.
How to store tea:
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Unopened packages can also be frozen to extend shelf-life.
