“Cooling and refreshing”
The choicest chrysanthemum flowers from Tongxiang City, Zhejiang province, home of the chrysanthemum flower tea (Hángbáijú).Chrysanthemum tea is a traditional Chinese health drink. Considered “cooling” in Traditional Chinese Medicine, chrysanthemum tea is the perfect drink anytime, but especially on warm days. Its slightly sweet flavor can be enhanced by the addition of a little honey. The finished brew has a bright yellow color and is pleasantly scented. The tea is light and refreshing.
How to prepare Chrysanthemum flower tea:
Use 6-10 chrysanthemum flowers for each cup. Boil fresh, cold water and allow it to cool to about 90C. Pour the water on the flowers and allow to brew for about two to three minutes. Use more flowers for a stronger taste. The flowers can be used for up to three infusions.
How to store tea:
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Unopened packages can also be placed in the freezer to extend shelf-life.
