Xihu Longjing Green Tea

Product Description

A tea classic!

Only the most tender spring buds and leaves are used to make our West Lake Longjing (Dragon Well) green tea. That's why they were picked before the 20th of April from the famous West Lake area of Hangzhou. The loose tea is made of flat leaves and buds which open beautifully when brewed. The tea has a light, pleasant aroma with undertones of fruit and nut. The prepared tea is a clear green with a blush of yellow and fills your mouth with a slight, almost fruity, sweetness.

Our 50 gram teabags are repacked from original 100 gram packages sold by the Hangzhou West Lake Longjing Tea Company.

How to prepare green tea:

Boil some fresh water and let it cool slightly to between 70 and 80C. Put a small amount of tea leaves (about 2 grams per 60 ml cup) and slowly start pouring in the water. Pour the hot water in a circle to bring the tea leaves to the same temperature. Then, slowly raise and lower the hot water kettle and let the water stir the tea leaves. Let the tea leaves steep for two minutes before drinking.

How to store tea:

Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container. Unopened packages can also be placed in the freezer to extend shelf-life.
